File Upload Limits

One of the content types which will be shown on the upcoming site are sermon recordings in MP3 format. To make it easier to upload these files through the WordPress interface, it’s necessary to raise the php upload limit.

The server default seems to be about 4MB, but this is smaller than some of the existing files. Poking around on Google yielded this thread on the WordPress forums.

Seems like adding the following few lines to .htaccess will do the trick.

php_value upload_max_filesize 20M
php_value post_max_size 20M
php_value max_execution_time 200
php_value max_input_time 200

I also had to raise the upload limit under the Super Admin options. The media upload interface now states that the limit is 10MB. Hopefully that’s sufficient.
